Monterey County Grows Health

Monterey County Grows Health is an annual health tab featuring student work - art, poetry, and prose - on the subject of health and fitness.  This newspaper supplement is created by students from 1st through 12th grades and is publised in the spring.

This publication contains a lot of student work, including many drawing and photographs... so.. it takes a very long time to load (10minutes).  Thanks for your patience

Living, Breathing,

Thinking and Eating Green

That's the theme of UCCE Monterey & Santa Cruz Counties' Nutrition Education Programs inthis year, 2008.  Youth can be powerful leaders in this effort.

UCCE supports the youthful enthusiasm and energy our local students demonstrate with a recognition program:

"Excellence in Leadership -

Kids Living Green"

We are recognizing young people aged 3-18 who demonstrate outstanding effort and/or achievement in the areas of alternative transport, solar power, wind power, recycling, fresh and local foods, farmer's markets, community gardens, support for sustainable fisheries and so on.  Check out the first winners here: Green Winners

Accomplishments can include actual work in the chosen field - or can be speeches, school projects, art works, youth advocacy projects, drama or other activity.  Nominate someone you know.
