Master Gardeners are community members who have been trained under the direction of the University of California Cooperative Extension. Each volunteer has completed more than 50 hours of formal classroom training. Master Gardeners help the Cooperative Extension office provide practical scientific gardening information to the home gardeners of our county.

Visit the UCCE Office , 311 Fair Lane, Placerville. The office is staffed 9 a.m. to noon, Tuesday through Friday. Bring a sample for identification, or drop by to ask questions. If you bring a sample, please put plant material in a plastic bag. For insect identification, don't bring them alive! Please preserve insects in a container with rubbing alcohol, or by freezing. Samples may be left at the main building from 1-5 p.m. T-F for a next-day call from a Master Gardener.

Attend our free public classes. Classes on a variety of topics are held most Saturday mornings from January through December. Master Gardeners are available to answer your questions during breaks and after class. See the 2009 Public Education Class Calendar for more information.
