Ag Ed Day

At the Ag Ed Day, Master Gardeners showed third-graders how to make a worm composting bin and what to put in it. The students tore paper strips, used squirt bottles to moisten the paper and sprinkled in other ingredients like egg shells and corn meal. They handled the red wigglers that were provided as starter inhabitants.

The Justice Garden, at the El Dorado County Jail, is maintained by Master Gardener volunteers and low-risk inmates. Produce from the garden is used in the jail's kitchen. The garden is now in its second year.
