Leonotis leonurus

Plant Description   Well-suited to dry gardens, this fast-growing, shrub explodes in late summer with showy whorls of tubular, 2-lipped, slightly fuzzy orange blossoms on rigid stalks. Flowers attract birds, butterflies, and bees. After flowering, cut stems back by about half to old growth. Robust in all conditions except where drainage is slow in winter when soggy soil can prove fatal.
