Plant Description

Ornamental forms of this Mediterranean herb attract bees and butterflies to pink or lavender blossoms that vary broadly among species. Some are tiny clusters in sprays atop tall wiry stems; others forms spread in gentle mounds with dangling blossoms composed of showy bracts that resemble soft pinecones. All require fast-draining soil. Cut to the ground or remove spent foliage before growth resumes in spring.
