Topic   What are the sunlight and soil requirements for home garden strawberries?
Overview
Your garden will need at least 6 hours of sunlight during the growing season for a successful crop. Strawberries do best in sandy, well-drained soils that are 6-8 inches high and 12-18 inches wide and have a pH of 5.5 to7.5. Apply approximately 1 pound of compost per square foot. This will help the water holding capacity of the soil.
