Plant Description
|
Fast-draining soil is essential for longevity of this Mediterranean native shrub whose narrow, crinkly, resinous leaves guard against heat and drought. White, pink, or lavender flowers with petals like crepe paper bear central tufts of yellow stamens. Trim young shrubs annually after bloom to encourage dense growth. All species tolerate both coastal and inland conditions, poor soil and neglect. If appearance becomes too ragged, replace plants.
