LANDSCAPING WITH HERBS —
CULINARY & AROMATIC HERBS IN A WATER-WISE GARDEN
Many culinary and aromatic herbs originated in the Mediterranean area and as such, thrive in our sun-drenched, light rain climate. While most herbs require some water, many use very little when established and can be an attractive part of low-water landscaping. Learn how to incorporate them into your kitchen, craft, and pleasure garden design. And, learn what materials most deer may not eat most of the time.
Robbie Cranch is a lifetime Fresno County Master Gardener, whose love of gardening stretches back to her first radish garden at age 4 and to the family herb garden in Ohio. She joined the Master Gardeners shortly after moving to the San Joaquin Valley in 1991, when she was desperate for conversation not about babies or work, and she had grown tired of the kill-as-you-learn method as she transitioned from Oregon’s Willamette Valley and east San Francisco Bay to here. She is married to an avid gardener, has two Australian Shepherd garden assistants, and has done her best to warp her children into gardeners.
