What is Children's 5 a Day - Power Play! ?

The California Children's 5 a Day -- Power Play! Campaign is a statewide nutrition education program funded by the California Nutrition Network through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Stamp Program.  The Central Valley Region Campaign is housed at the University of California Cooperative Extension Office in Fresno.  Please feel free to contact Elizabeth Villalobos, Program Coordinator at (559) 456-7275 if you have any questions. 

What does 5 a Day - Power Play! do?

The Central Valley Children's 5 a Day -- Power Play! Campaign encourages children and their families to eat at least 2 1/2 to 5 cups of fruits and vegetables and get 60 minutes of Power Play each day for better health!

This encouragement is done through a variety of areas that we call channels, including:

Where do we work?

The Central Valley 5 a Day - Power Play! Campaign works with low-income, food stamp eligible children ages 9 - 11.  The Campaign serves the Central Valley counties of Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, Merced, Mariposa, and Tulare.
