Achievement Night
What is Achievement Night:
Achievement night is a formal evening where members are recognized for exemplary achievement in various categories, including: record book winners, emerald star, teen leader awards, leadership merit awards, club star ranks, leader recognition, club fair trophies, etc.
Who is in Charge:
- Awards Chair and awards committee
- The current All-Stars help hand out awards
When:
- Late September
- 7:00-9:00 pm
What to do:
- 3 months in advance:
- Check with Youth Advisor for possible dates
- Reserve a facility that is wheelchair accessible. When reserving facility, obtain a lease agreement (if not already in place) and submit it unsigned to 4-H YDA for processing.
- Notify All-Stars with date, time, and responsibilities
- Notify editor of the Timely Topics with date, time, and location with directions. Deadline for TT is the 15th of each month.
- Check to make sure that you have all the appropriate medals/certificates/awards to hand out.
- Check with Youth Advisor for possible dates
- 1 month in advance:
- Publicize specific time, location, and awards to be handed out in the Timely Topics
- Confirm facility
- Send letters to winners with an invitation to attend
- Send invitation to County Director
- Publicize specific time, location, and awards to be handed out in the Timely Topics
- 1 week in advance:
- Make up program
- Confirm with All-Stars that they will be emcees
- Make up program
- Day of:
- Set up 1 hour before participants arrive
- Make sure microphone works
- Conduct awards ceremony
- Give names and addresses of award donors to winners
- CLEAN UP afterwards
- Set up 1 hour before participants arrive
- 1 week after:
- Update the binder for the following year
- Remind winners to send thank-you cards to donors
- Update the binder for the following year
