All-Star Ambassador Recognition Banquet

What is the All-Star Ambassador Recognition Banquet:
Held the evening after All-Star Ambassador selection.  Family and friends are invited to attend to recognize the work current All-Stars and to welcome the newly selected All-Stars.  After the current All-Stars put on dinner and a program, the initiation ceremony for the new All-Stars will take place.   

Who is in Charge:

  • All-Star Advisor
  • Awards Chair
  • Current All-Stars 

When:

  • May or June
  • 6:00-9:00 pm

What to do: 

  • 6 months in advance:
    • Check with Youth Advisor to select date
    • Reserve banquet room that is wheelchair accessible.* When reserving facility, obtain a lease agreement (if not already in place) and submit it unsigned to the 4-H YDA for processing.
    • Notify Council Vice President of date to place on calendar
  • 3 months in advance:
    • Plan menu
    • Publicize date, time, and location in Timely Topics. Monthly deadline is the 15th.
    • Mail applications for All-Star intendees to all eligible youth with the help of the 4-H office.  Applications must be approved in advance by 4-H YDA.
  • 1 month in advance:
    • Publicize specific time, location, and directions in the Timely Topics
    • Confirm facility
    • Send invitations to former All-Stars
    • Recruit 3 judges for All-Star selection
  • 1 week in advance:
    • Make up program
    • Confirm dinner details
    • Re-confirm facility
  • Day of:
    • Set up 1 hour before participants arrive
    • Make sure microphone works
    • Welcome guests
    • CLEAN UP afterwards
  • 1 week after:
    • Update the binder for the following year
    • Send thank-you cards to judges

*Make sure banquet facility has a podium, microphone, and enough tables and chairs for guests to eat dinner and watch program
