North Central: Creating a Leader (CAL)
C.A.L. is a sectional 4-H event and members from all North Central Section counties are encouraged to attend. Participants share their knowledge, exchange ideas and information, and have the chance to develop and enhance their leadership skills. Each attendee is expected to participate fully.

State Leadership Conference (SLC)
The California 4-H State Conference is an opportunity for diverse groups of youth that are currently engaged in significant leadership and/or service learning activities to come together while further learning and developing their ability to make a positive impact on California’s communities. It is put on by the California State Ambassadors.

State Field Day
The State 4-H Field Day is an event for the entire family! 4-H members, siblings and parents can participate in numerous activities that take place during the event, held at UC Davis each year. The event is open to all California 4-H members (any age), siblings, 4-H volunteers, and parents!

State 4-H Incentives and Recognition
The purposes of incentives and recognition are: 1) To reinforce the motivation of 4-H members and volunteers to participate, create and achieve in 4-H Youth Development; and (2) To underscore a sense of belonging and being valued in the 4-H community.
- 4-H Golden Clover Awards – The Golden Clover Awards recognize outstanding achievement of 4-H members, volunteers, and groups within the 4-H YDP
- Higher Education Scholarships – Statewide scholarships are available, with help from donors, for graduating high school and college-attending students
- 4-H Record Books – Completing a 4-H Record Book is a process where 4-H members record project and club work
