Workshops are held in California and occasionally in other areas of the West to raise awareness of woody biomass utilization issues and options in the local area. These events are designed to facilitate collective learning, networking and to assist in the identification of technical and market opportunities. Attendees include Forest Service and other Federal employees, timber and biomass industry, contractors, community members, politicians, environmental orgnanizations and others. We attempt to gear workshops to the local situation and topics of interest. We generally include presentations, focussed discussion and often field tours to forest sites or processing facilities.
