Spring 2012 Master Food Preserver Program Application

Thank you for your interest in the University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) Los Angeles County Master Food Preserver (MFP) Program.  This application is for the spring 2012 class, which starts on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 and meets every Tuesday until June 5, 2012 from 5:30 to 9:30pm.  Most classes will be held at UCCE located at 4800 E. Cesar E. Chavez Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90022.  Some meetings may be held at an off-site location.

The fee for this course is $120, which includes course books. Applicants who are chosen to participate in the program will be asked to pay the fee online using a credit card before the begining of the class.  This fee is non-reimburseable. Applicants must also pay the fee for the fingerprint and background check.

Applicants will be chosen for this program based on their interest in home food preservation, past experiences and their willingness to volunteer their time (at least 30 hrs/year) teaching the public about home food preservation.  There is a strong committment to serve a low-income audience through this program.  MFP's will be asked to seek out limited resource, low-income communities for food preservation demonstrations.
